Abstract
ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the contextual learning model on writing exposition texts in class X SMA Erlangga. This type of quantitative research uses the Quasi Experiment method, with the research population consisting of all students sitting in class X SMA Erlangga as many as 2 classes, with Simple Random Sampling technique, obtained samples of class X IPA as the experimental class totaling 20 students and X IPS as the control class consisted of 20 students. The instrument used is an exposition text writing test in the form of a written test. Based on the results of research and data analysis, it can be concluded that the ability to write expository texts using a contextual learning model by class X students of SMA Erlangga i has increased. The percentage of completeness of the t-test obtained tcount 5.77. Because the t table shows the t table value of 5%. Comparing the value = 5.77 and ttable at a significant level of 5%, it shows that tcount is greater than the value of ttable (5.77 > 1.68). This means that the hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The results of the study prove that there is a significant effect on the use of contextual learning models in writing exposition texts by class X students of SMA Erlangga..
