The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the smart character model in improving student discipline in the Curriculum Basics course at STKIP Budidaya Binjai. This research is a quantitative experimental study. The sample in this study consists of 47 third-semester students from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program at STKIP Budidaya Binjai. Data collection was done using a closed-ended questionnaire designed to measure students' discipline in terms of time management, class participation, and timely task completion. The results show that the implementation of the smart character model had a positive impact on improving student discipline. The pre-test results showed that students' discipline was in the low category with an average score of 2.7. After the implementation of the smart character model, the post-test results showed a significant improvement with an average score of 4.2, indicating that students' discipline was in the high category. The t-test statistical results showed a p-value of 0.0001, which is smaller than 0.05, proving that the difference in discipline scores before and after the implementation of the model is significant. This study concludes that the implementation of the smart character model can effectively improve student discipline in the Curriculum Basics course.References
