THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE ASSIGNMENT THROUGH STUDENTS’ WORK PAPER TECHNIQUE ON STUDENTS’ ACHIEVEMENT IN LEARNING VOCABULARY AT THE SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF MTS.S. HUBBUL WATHAN MODAL BANGSA LANGKAT

Abstract

This research deals with two methods, which were experimental method anddescriptive method. The experimental was conducted to acquire the data,meanwhile descriptive method was conducted to describe the invention. The mainobjectives of the research is to find out the students’ achievement in masteringvocabulary after, to find out the effect on students’ achievement in learningvocabulary after doing assignment and to find out whether there is the effect ofusing work paper to the achievement in vocabulary. The data were obtained bygiving test to the experimental and control group after giving different learning to both groups. The number of the subject is 32 students in each group. They are VII-1 as experimental group and VII-2 as control group. The instrument used was teacher made test based on the materials that had been taught. The test was inmultiple choices. It consists of 30 items. Each item has one score. The data was analyzed by using t-test. The result of the analysis shows that the value of t-observed is bigger that value of t-table. This shoed the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It means that there is significanteffect giving work paper in learning vocabulary.
