THE EFFECT OF CHORAL READING METHOD ON STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION IN GRADE XI SMAS DARMA PATRA

This study was intended to determine empirical evidence of student achievement in readingcomprehension using the Choral method; Reading in the eleventh grade of SMAS Darma Patra.This study used purposive sampling techniques and used quantitative research. The sample inthis study was 36 students in class XI IPA collection instrument in the form of multiple choicetests. The results of the study found that the calculated score of tcount was 13.436 and the ttablewas 1.994. So score of tcount is higher than the score of ttable· This means that there is an influenceon the use of Choral Reading on the reading comprehension of grade XI students of SMASDarma P tra. This strategy is recommended to teachers should use this strategy to improve theirEnglish skills especially in reading.References
