PUBLICATION ETHICS
Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Managers
- Determining the journal name, scope of knowledge, publication frequency, and accreditation submission when necessary, as well as determining editorial board membership.
- Defining the relationship between publishers, editors, reviewers, and other parties through a formal agreement.
- Respecting the confidentiality of all contributing researchers, authors, editors, and reviewers.
- Enforcing norms and regulations regarding intellectual property rights, particularly copyright.
- Reviewing journal policies and communicating them to authors, editorial boards, reviewers, and readers.
- Establishing codes of conduct and ethical guidelines for editors and reviewers.
- Publishing the journal on a regular and timely basis.
- Ensuring the availability of funding for the sustainability of journal publication.
- Building collaborative networks with research institutions and relevant agencies.
- Preparing permits and other legal aspects required for publication.
Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
- Meeting the needs of both readers and authors while continuously striving to improve publication quality.
- Implementing processes to ensure the quality of published manuscripts.
- Upholding freedom of objective opinion.
- Maintaining the integrity of the academic track record of authors.
- Issuing corrections, clarifications, and apologies when necessary.
- Being responsible for the writing style and format of scientific manuscripts, while the content and all statements within the manuscript remain the sole responsibility of the author.
- Actively seeking feedback from authors, readers, reviewers, and editorial board members to improve publication quality.
- Conducting regular internal evaluations of the scientific journal's quality.
- Supporting author initiatives regarding publication ethics by including a clearance form with every manuscript submission.
- Remaining open-minded toward new opinions or views that may differ from personal positions, in the interest of advancing knowledge.
- Avoiding subjective decisions by not insisting on personal, author, or third-party opinions, and seeking solutions that are scientifically accountable.
- Encouraging authors to revise their manuscripts until they are suitable for publication.
Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Reviewing manuscripts and reporting the results to the editor as a basis for determining the eligibility of a manuscript for publication.
- Refraining from reviewing manuscripts in which they are involved, either directly or indirectly.
- Providing constructive suggestions, feedback, and recommendations on scientific manuscripts.
- Maintaining the privacy of authors by not disclosing correction results, suggestions, or recommendations regarding a manuscript.
- Encouraging authors to improve their manuscripts.
- Re-reviewing revised manuscripts in accordance with established standards.
- Completing manuscript reviews in a timely manner, in accordance with the journal's publication style and based on established scientific principles (data collection methods, author legitimacy, conclusions, etc.).
Duties and Responsibilities of Authors
- Ensuring that all listed authors meet the established authorship criteria.
- Taking collective responsibility for the work and content of the article, including methods, analysis, calculations, and their details.
- Disclosing the origin of all resources used, including funding, whether direct or indirect.
- Explaining the limitations of the research.
- Responding to comments made by reviewers and the editorial board in a professional, scientifically sound, and timely manner.
- Informing the editor in writing if they wish to withdraw their manuscript.
- Declaring that the manuscript submitted for publication is original, has never been published anywhere in any language, and is not currently under consideration by another publisher.
