Abstract

ABSTRACT One way to make students more interested in the learning material presented by the teacher is to apply an easy learning method or approach, in order to get class participation and can increase student interaction in the teaching process. One of the learning methods in question is the scientific approach. The purpose of this study was to determine how the effect of learning outcomes using a scientific approach in class III science subjects at SD Negeri 101766 Bandar Setia. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental). This study aims to determine the effect of scientific learning on science learning outcomes for third grade students of SD Negeri 101766 Bandar Setia. Then the population in this study were all 3rd grade students of SD Negeri 101766 Bandar Setia as many as 50 people. Based on the results of the learning activities that have been carried out and based on the analysis of research data, it can be concluded that the scientific approach has an effect on student learning outcomes, because it emphasizes the scientific process in learning that is oriented towards fostering students' ability to solve problems through a series of activities and phenomena that occur in everyday life. In class IIIA, there was an increase in learning outcomes of 31.2 with an average value of pretest = 40 and an average value of posttest = 41.6. While in class IIIB, there was an increase in learning outcomes of 30.8 with an average value of pretest = 41.6 and an average value of posttest = 72.4. Therefore, the average learning outcomes for class IIIA using a scientific approach are better than the average learning outcomes for class IIIB using conventional learning. This is because during the learning process in the experimental class (IIIA) using a scientific approach, students look more enthusiastic because in learning a scientific approach.
