Abstract

ABSTRACT   Vocational education has an important role in preparing skilled workers who are ready to enter the industrial world and the job market. However, an approach that focuses too much on the technical aspects often ignores the character development and philosophical insights of the learners. This article aims to examine vocational education through the perspective of peripathetic philosophy, which emphasizes holistic learning involving skills, values, and life goals. Two vocational schools affiliated with NU both are SMK Ma'arif 1 Ajibarang and SMK Ma'arif 1 Cilongok as samples for this study, the research is a philosophical descriptive qualitative research. As for the method of literature review and concept analysis, this study found that the peripatetic approach in vocational education can provide a deeper meaning to learning, not only focusing on practical skills, but also on character and ethics development. Then to increase the validity of the data, the researcher also held an interview with the principal and chairman of Tanfiziyah NU Banyumas Regency. From the results of the interviews, physiologically, peripathetic philosophy emphasizes that education is not just an economic tool, but a process of forming a complete human being as seen in the integration of the curriculum applied. The results of the study show that the analysis of peripatetic philosophy in vocational education can help produce graduates who have practical skills as well as mature personalities and solid ethical values as stated in the curriculum implemented by SMK NU 1 Ajibarang and SMK NU1 Cilongok Banyumas Regency, not to mention the rules from the government to support the realization of the Pancasila student profile. Thus, this approach is relevant to create a vocational education system that is more meaningful and oriented towards self-development and positive contributions to society in accordance with peripathetic studies that lead to the integrity of creation and human work.   Keywords: vocational education, peripathetic philosophy, skills, ethics, character development
