HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN SOSIAL ORANG TUA DENGAN SELF ESTEEM MAHASISWA STKIP BUDIDAYA BINJAI

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of parental social support to student self esteem. This type of research is quantitative research with a correlation approach. The sample size was 100 students of STKIP Budidaya Binjai obtained by random sampling technique. The data collection instrument uses a parental social support questionnaire and a student self esteem questionnaire. Data analysis techniques to test the hypothesis using product moment correlation techniques. Based on the results obtained in this study, it shows that there is a significant relationship between parental social support and student self esteem and the relationship is included in the strong category. This is evident from the significance value of 0.000 because the significance of 0.000 <0.05, Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a significant relationship between parental social support and student self esteem and a pearson correlation value of 0.964 which means that there is a very strong relationship between parental social support and student self esteem. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between parental social support and the self esteem of STKIP Budidaya Binjai students.
