Abstract

The study aims to describe the comparison of storylines in the novel 12 Stories Glen Anggara by Luluk HF and the film 12 Stories Glen Anggara directed by Fajar Bustomi. This type of research was qualitative research using descriptive methods. Data analysis was carried out based on the novel and film 12 Glen Anggara Stories. The research data was obtained by means of reading and note-taking techniques. The approach used is a comparative literary study. The research instrument used by the researcher was the researcher himself who was assisted by guidelines for analyzing the ecranization of novels into films referring to Eneste's theory (1991: 60-65). The results of the study show that there are aspects of shrinkage in the novel that are not shown in the film, additional aspects that are not included in the novel and aspects of variation changes that occur when the novel's story is adapted into a film. Based on the results of this study, a comparison of the storylines in the novel and film 12 Glen Anggara stories shows that there are events that are omitted, added or changed as needed.   Keywords: Plot, movie, comparative literary studies, novel
