Abstract

The aim of the research is to determine the development of Problem Based Learning-based teaching materials in improving the creative thinking abilities of class VII students at MTs Al-Mushlihin, Binjai City, and to determine the effect of using these teaching materials in improving students' creative thinking abilities. This type of research is development research (research and development). The research instruments used were a validation sheet for teaching materials, a student response questionnaire, and a test of students' creative mathematical thinking abilities. The sample in this research was class VII MTs students. Al-Mushlihin. The results of this research indicate that the development of Problem Based Learning-based teaching materials to improve the creative thinking abilities of class VII students at MTs Al-Mushlihin, Binjai City includes three development stages, namely define, design, and develop. Then, based on the results of the hypothesis test, it is known that the value of tcount > ttable is 2.442 > 1.690, so it can be said that there is an influence of the use of Problem Based Learning-based teaching materials on increasing the creative thinking abilities of class VII students at MTs Al-Mushlihin, Binjai City.
