Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model on problem solving abilities. This research was conducted at SMP 2 Pangururan. This type of research is quasi-experimental research. The sample used in this research was class VIII-2 as the experimental class and VIII-1 students as the control class. The instrument used in this research was a problem solving ability test in the form of a description of 4 questions. The prerequisite test used is the Liliefors test to test the normality of the data, while the Fisher test is to test the homogeneity of the data. Based on the results of the normality test, it was found that both populations had normal distribution. Meanwhile, the results of the homogeneity test showed that the two populations were homogeneous (the same). Based on the research results, it is revealed that the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model has a great influence on problem solving abilities. This can be seen from the average posttest score of the problem solving ability test results that have been taught using the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model is 61.844 and the average posttest score of the problem solving ability test results that have been taught using the conventional learning model method. expository was 61.187 so it was found that the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model had an influence of 70.56%. The conclusion of this research is that learning mathematics using the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model has an effect on problem solving abilities.
